Departing from Saint-Michel, discover the charming, sunny village of Saint-Martin-la-Porte.
Start your journey at the hamlet of "La Porte", a historic crossing of the Roman road up the Maurienne valley.
Then descend into the narrow streets of the village of Saint-Martin-la-Porte. Between the Fort du Télégraphe and the imposing cliffs of the Croix des Tête, take a short break to visit the remarkable Baroque church in the center of town.
Start: Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne Mairie
1/ Drive up the road towards the heights of Saint-Michel. After the first hairpin bend, turn left.
2/ Take the footpath and rejoin the road shortly after the Château du Vigny. Follow the road up to "La Porte".
3/ Continue along the winding road above the hamlet.
4/ Take the path down to Mollard Durant then Sous la Roche.
5/ Go back down into the village and cross it via the lanes and paths.
6/ Go back up towards the Mairie and the church, and continue along the road towards "La Porte". From here, follow the same route as on the outward journey to your starting point.
