Tour des Aiguilles d'Arves: Refuge du Goléon - Refuge des Aiguilles d'Arves

Between high mountains and pastoral valleys, this stage links the Goléon refuge to the Aiguilles d'Arves refuge. Passing over the Col du Goléon, we cross the wild combes, alpine meadows and larches of Bonnenuit to reach the refuge at the foot of the Aiguilles.

From the refuge du Goléon, the route skirts the lake in a mineral setting dominated by the pointe du Goléon. The ascent to the Col du Goléon quickly plunges the hiker into an alpine atmosphere, with grassy slopes, rocks and scree.
From the col, the descent opens up vast vistas of the wild Goléon combe, dominated by the Grand Galibier mountain range. The landscape gradually becomes gentler as you reach the bottom of the valley.
The traverse then continues into the more frequented Combe de Mortavieille, marked by the presence of mountain pastures and small hamlets. After passing through Bonnenuit, the route climbs back up into a beautiful larch forest, offering a shadier atmosphere.
The final climb takes you through alpine meadows to the Aiguilles d'Arves refuge, ideally situated at the foot of the famous needles that dominate this area. This mountain refuge, set in a grandiose setting, is a privileged stopover in the heart of the massif.
