Le Dolmen et le Bois Dessus

This hike in the vicinity of the village of Le Thyl, above Saint-Michel-de Maurienne, takes us to places frequented in the Neolithic period, some 3000 years BC, by the first inhabitants of the Arc Valley.

Also worth a visit is the martyred village of Bois Dessus, a place steeped in history burnt down in 1944 by Germans fleeing back to Italy.

Depart from Le Thyl-parking.
Head towards and through the hamlet.
Take the path to the right of the church.
At the next intersection, follow the signs for the Dolmen.
A round trip takes you to the Dolmen.
Continue along the track towards Bois Dessus.
Once you've reached the hamlet, take the same route back to the Thyl-parking area.
