A lecture and discussion on global warming and mountain conservation, moderated by Fiona Mille, president of the Mountain Wilderness association.
The topics to be addressed will be:
To remind us that mountains are part of the Earth’s wilderness and, as such, belong to the cultural heritage of all humankind
What will our mountains look like in 2030?
Accelerating all vital transitions in mountain regions
Connecting, at all levels (village – valley – mountain range), the civic initiatives that help reconcile wild mountains with mountains as places to live
Demonstrating that these transitions are already underway and deserve to be promoted, guided, and supported
Helping to change perceptions of what constitutes the “wealth” of mountain regions by challenging our collective imaginations.
